OSHKO / 11.14.2019 / Benchmark FPS Intel Processor Video Card
When it comes to gaming, a lot of people look at the graphic cards and overlook the CPU. However, your CPU does impact performance, but how much ? This is what we decide to look at today, answering the eternal question : I5 or I7 ? Using a Intel i5 9600k and a Intel i7 9700k, without overclocking and using the exact same graphic card, we threw them against popular games.
– Battlefield 5
– Call of Duty Modern Warfare
– Apex Legends
– Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Build : NVIDIA GeForce 2070 RTX by ASUS Strix, Corsair Vengeance 16GB 2933Mhz, ASUS Prime Z390-P
Giving the usual 30 minute per game with each configuration, I noticed a considerable difference. Not only in FPS ( which you can see right below ) but in overall performance. Where some game would stutter or miss a few frames with the i5 9600k, the i7 9700k gave me an incredibly smooth experience with every single game.
Whether it is to reach this competitive FPS count, or simply to fully immerse yourself in the latest Tomb Raider, you will appreciate the added value of the Intel i7-9700k. If you are asking yourself : is it really worth it ? The answer is a definite yes.
If you would like to know the settings we used in games to achieve those performance or comment about your experience, feel free to leave a comment.
